The closed analytical expression for the Uehling potential is derived. The Uehling potential describes the lowest-order correction on vacuum polarization in atomic and muon-atomic systems. By using our three-term analytical formula for the Uehling potential we evaluated the vacuum polarization correction(s) for the $1^1S-$state of the two-electron ${}^{3}$He and ${}^{4}$He atoms and for some two-electron ions, including the Li$^{+}$, Be$^{2+}$, B$^{3+}$ and C$^{4+}$ ions.
