Effect of Tensor Interaction in SkHF Theory on Evolution of Nuclear
Shells
   [PDF]

Rupayan Bhattacharya
The evolution of nuclear shells has been studied in Hartree-Fock calculations using Skyrme's density dependent interaction with SKP force parameters. Using a scaling formalism to include the effect of tensor interaction optimization has been done in reproducing the observed splitting of shell model states of 208Pb. Spin-orbit splitting in Ca-isotopes, N = 82 isotones, Sn-isotopes and evolution of gaps in Z, N = 8, 20, 28 have been reanalyzed with the inclusion of tensor interaction. For doubly shell closed nuclei it has been observed that tensor interaction is sensitive to spin saturation of nuclear shells. This property has been used to characterize super-heavy element.
